As we begin...
As you start reading through the Daily Bible, what do you hope to learn from it? What aspect of reading through it this year are you most excited about?

Psalm 1:1-3
“Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked
or stand in the way of sinners
or sit in the seat of mockers.
But his delight is in the law of the LORD,
and on his law he meditates day and night.
He is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields it’s fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither,
Whatever he does prospers.”
As 2010 starts, I’m excited to start reading the Daily Chronological Bible. I am also excited that there will be a bunch of us reading it. Because the readings are broken out by day, we should all be reading the same material every day. This provides great opportunities for discussion and accountability on the blog and in person.
This blog was setup as a place where we can discuss what we are reading and learning. By regularly and thoughtfully discussing the Word together we will be mulling over the passage throughout the day/week. It will help us better internalize and put into practice what we are reading. Hopefully, you will contribute to the conversation, and we can all benefit from each others’ insights.
Meditates in the verse above means “to mutter; to chew the cud.” When cows eat they chew their food once then regurgitate it and chew it again several times over to further break it down and aid in digestion. Metaphorically, to chew the cud means “to ponder over; meditate; talk together in a friendly, leisurely way; or chat at length.”
Participating in the conversation on this blog will give you some accountability to stay up with the reading. Accountability is a great tool to turn good intentions into right actions. So if you know who else is reading through the Daily Bible, we can encourage one another to be in the Word of God daily.
The way this blog will work:
There will be a short post every few days. Most of the conversation will take place in the comments. Anyone can comment, you just have to have a blogger account or a Google ID. You can subscribe to the posts and the comments with your favorite feed reader (see sidebar).
If you have a good idea for a post, let me know, and I’ll add you as an author on the blog. Anybody can post!
So join the conversation.
